hello from Oceanside, CA.

Hello all!
I just picked up my 3rd mini . I started with a Chili red and black 2004 standard (graduating from a 74 VW bug that I had for about 25 years...). It was a blast and as I often said, "more fun than i should be allowed to have". I kept that for about 3 years, and then plunged in and bought a brand new Chili red and black 2007 S with the convenience package, cold weather package, lifetime sirius radio, etc. After putting about 110K miles on that car I was faced with a 10 year old mini with a failing clutch and a few other cosmetic and minor issues. I just picked up yesterday my new Laser Blue Metalic with piano black interior 2010 S . Only 57K miles on this one and it is in great shape! the protective plastic on the door jam plates is still in place and they just had the clutch replaced under warranty about 5K miles ago so everything is very solid on this new (to me) mini .

I'm looking to see if I can't transfer some of my convenience package bits from the 2007 mini to the 2010 mini. Particularly the sirius radio, climate control, and the keyless ignition components... (probably in that order of significance). I'm also looking to get a nice phone mount (looking at the flexpod system or similar, but with a Qi charging pad and good phone mount) and see if I can't get a decent bluetooth hookup to work (the one in the 2007 never really worked too well... always low quality audio on phone calls, and any music from the phone had to be played at full volume to be heard.

I found this forum after searching around a bit about the sirius radio question and am looking forward to diving in a bit more with my latest mini. On the previous 2 minis I spent all my time just driving them and didn't do much in the way of modifying or playing with them. looking to do a bit more with this latest one and this forum looks like a great trove of information to do so!

Thanks!

Congrats
I learned to drive on a 73 Bug so I always have a soft spot for them.

Welcome to NAM,

With more than 4,000,000 posts, chances are that most questions about a MINI are logged around here somewhere.
