So, I have built a few minis and done a lot of work for other people and own a 2005 cooper s. But this last weekend I got a good deal on one. Slightly confused though. It is a 2003 jcw. It is badged on the front and back, has jcw intake, head "red dot", blue injectors, exhaust, front sway bars, 17 inch tires, and shift light in middle of dash. Question one. Limited slip? Factory tune? It does have jcw badge with low 300 number. Did dealers only install these, because I thought early ones didn't have blue injectors.

 

Early ones didn't have blue injectors or the airbox. The 210hp upgrade became available later, and if done by the dealer would have had the proper tune on it too. Would not have left the factory with an LSD installed

Absolutely - thats probably what happened. Dealer installed kit when the car was new, and then upgraded (380cc injectors, CAI and tune) when the 210hp kit became available

200 - 210 bhp JCW Upgrade Kit (airbox, 380cc injectors + tune) was available October 2004.

LSD was available as factory option (2TA) starting with January 2005 builds.
