I just purchased my first Mini. R56-S. I've owned 4 BMW's in the past so I'm familiar with a lot features, but I have a lot to learn! First quick Mod I want to do is tint the windows and upgrade the sound. I know there is a lot of wind noise in this car, however, I'm hoping an upgrade to the speakers will improve the sound quality (has the standard sound system).

First question comes to mind is what year as whether you have the N14 or N18 engine does make a difference. Next question, any pictures?

I have a 2009. I'll post pics after I clean it up and tint the windows. Way to open for my taste.... lol. So far I love it. I clock a lot of highway miles. My work is 20 miles away and my girlfriend lives about 70 miles away. So I get to enjoy the ride a lot. I used to have a 2005 Land Rover LR3, and the gas was killing me. This costs a third less to fill up and runs the same distance more efficiently.

Next Wednesday it goes in the shop to check the quality of the chain and tensioner.

 

Oh and I have the N14 engine

I have lots of projects for this car (not in order).

Tint glass
Verify status of chain (possibly have it or tensioner replaced)
Replace front speakers
Brakes
Winter tires in October
Possibly new set of rims
Figure out how to play music from my phone (I can't believe it can't do that!?!)
Roof rack with basket
Stripes???
