New Guy from Iowa

Hello. I just bought my 1st Mini. It is a used 2015 2 door S with 26k miles. We plan to haul it in an enclosed trailer behind our motorhome. Looking for info on securing it to the trailer. I haven't taken delivery yet, so I have not had a chance to get under it and see if there are tie down points or not. I am thinking that using straps over the wheels may be the best route to go, so that the suspension is free to move.

I see that you are having a rally at the tail of the dragon. I will be there at the same time, but with a different group. I will be with the BMW K1600 crowd. I remember seeing all of the Mini's there last year. Looks like a blast in a Mini!!

Welcome to NAM.

Would think there will be some posts on how to haul your car.

Rode bikes years ago, like the feel of a little metal around my body better now.

Welcome to NAM.

I don't think there are specific tie-downs for your needs. I'd agree with you that strapping to the wheels might be the best approach.

Welcome!

Depending on your trailer you have options for ratchet strap, if it has floor rails then the tire straps are perfect, if it has side rails them then mounting some nice tow hooks can provide secure anchor points on your car and/or a combination of both.

Motor On!
