Hello Everyone From Florence Sc
Well I normally don’t do forms but time for a change always had Honda’s but
landed a 2004 R53-S Mc40 and loving it will never go back to Honda’s I’ve done some mods to it like Magnaflow Ehaust ,ALTA Intech , Sprintex Whistle lol, 2° colder plug,Magna wires. Trying to get the car back like it should be.
I’m looking for some carbon fiber dash pices due to the cold weather cracked mine a week ago. 😡Cracked my airbag cover and left side ac vent and passenger side ac vent So if anyone on here knows of some one can repair or for me to purchase more will gratefully be Appreciated.
Thanks Chris

Welcome to the forum and the world of MINI. I too am new to MINIs coming from Mazdas, however, I suspect my daily driver will remain a Mazda. I have some sympathy for you with the cold temperature this winter. Yesterday was the first day that it went above freezing since the 23rd of December here in southern PA.
I have never heard of a dash piece, let alone a carbon fiber piece cracking due to temperature. It must have been installed extremely tightly and it was the weakest part as the different materials expanded and contracted at different rates. You may want to avoid whoever supplied those pieces if they were not stock. There seems to be far more suppliers for MINI than most other brands, however, I have not found one to recommend over another.

Welcome to NAM.
Don't forget to get over to the MC40 group and check in there.
What I see from your photos are about normal for a the 5 part Carbon Fiber JCW dash from the MC40. I too have found this so be a small annoyance and I am planning to remedy it soon. My plan is to pull the affected parts by what appears to be a systemic flaw and have them repaired. The replacement parts are LNA (No Longer Available). I have been searching salvage yards and I always keep an eye on ebay for these parts that may pop up from time to time. Bottom line, I think it will be just pulling the parts and sending them off to a specialty shop to have re-laminated. Lucky for me I found a guy that might be able to do mine that is only a few miles from me. I'll open a conversation with him and see if he can take a look and give me an idea of repair costs and maybe he would be interested in doing the repairs.
Anyway, best of luck and welcome to the family.
