Hello from Washington, DC

Hello everyone,

My name is Alistair and I'm new to the NAM forum. I am a long time reader of your threads and have used your advice since picking up my Mini in June. I decided to go ahead and join the forum so that I can hopefully provide my insight and experiences too.

I managed to pick up a nice used one owner R57 with 56k miles in June. It came with a K&N intake already installed. I have been messing with cars and motorcycles since I was a teenager (35 now), so the Mini has been getting slowly upgraded since June. I did the WMW diverter valve upgrade, BSH catch can with boost tap mod, hot side turbo resonator delete, FMIC, Stage 1 Manic tune, lowered on BSH springs, WMW rear sway bar. I think that's all I have done thus far. Trying to decide on down pipe and exhaust options next...

Looking forward to being a member of NAM!

Alistair

Welcome to NAM.

What year? Not that good on Gen2s but the picture is not at the right angle for me to see the front bumper cover well.

Thanks for the welcome! Its an 09. Drove the whole skyline drive a couple of weeks ago with the top down agreed, life was perfect in that moment!

OK, depending on the build date, you may have the N14 engine. If yes, are you aware of the possible issues with that?

I do have the N14 motor and I'm aware of a few of the issues with them, in fact, this week, my clutch started to slip. Ended up being my clutch and that oh so awesome dual mass flywheel. While it was at the shop, they discovered a leaking water pump too. Also needed an axle seal and a few other bits and bobs, total bill $3499. There goes the down pipe plans!
