New Mini Owner...almost

Hi all, just purchased my first mini s, picking her up tomorrow!!! This adventure started out looking for a winter car, as I'm parking what has been my dd and now keeping as a weekend summer car. I love cars, a bit of an enthusiast, but was getting frustrated at the standard boring options, and while out cruising around yesterday, drove by a mini. Was with my husband and brother and said hey, what about a mini? They both said absolutely, so off to the dealer we went. My husband has owned two in his younger years...I have heard many stories of the good times he had. Before we even got to the dealer, I knew I was buying one. I wanted used and truly wasn't fussed about too much. Looked at a 2013, 2016 and a new 2017. The salesperson was absolutely fantastic, not pushy, very knowledgeable, easy to work with. I ended up in the 2017 pepper white (my husband was the pushy one here), papers all signed, financing approved in less than 3 hours. This was by far the best new car buying experience I've ever had for not even the most expensive car I have ever purchased. I am stupid excited for tomorrow to hurry up and get here.

I've been searching for mods already, so my first question....where do you all buy from?...I am sure there are other threads, so I will go search there too....We wont be doing anything to the engine to avoid warranty issues, well maybe a cold air intake and maybe a cat back exhaust.....maybe. What I do want are stripes, mirror caps, interior accessories...in orange. I will hopefully be getting 3m done this week, so stripes and mirror caps are important (color matching). Any suggestions??

Cheers!

Welcome! Cold air intakes are pretty much worthless on these turbo cars. Dinan has a new elite module that ups performance and comes with a full engine warranty to handle any issues that MINI won't cover for the engine related to the tuning.

Best idea IMO is to drive for a bit before digging in and changing things to much. Enjoy the ride!

Welcome to the forum

I agree with Minnie.the.Moocher .. wait a bit, make sure your research what you want and where to buy them or you could regret it later. Much info on the site where people have traveled the path and some seem to be selling parts later to travel another path.

Welcome to NAM. I agree I would drive first and then see what performance things you will want to do. For the exterior there many place you can purchase them from along with Ebay. I purchased my gas cover on Ebay.

Interesting, I had no idea. I have a cold air intake on my other car, it was the first mod I did. Fortunately, it didn't need a tune. I will keep reading. Performance mods are not a priority anyway!!! Thank you!

Thank you, I have been searching already, including ebay. I think to get the color scheme I want, looks like some things may need to be customized. Need to bring the car home and spend some time with her.
