Just Bought a 2002 mini cooper, Never had a small car, Wow it really is like a road legal gocart...Fun Fun Fun . I was reading up on how to install a aux cable in the stock radio. got cable plug in no luck

R50 or a R53? I just helped a friend put an Aux cable on his 2006, was easy as the kit had the correct plug for the back of the radio. I don't know how the thing works on the 02, if you push the Mode button will get AUX to come up?

 

R50 it looks as plug and play, on researching it but i can get a aux display on radio nothing. im thinking bad cable ? pins used 3,4,10. i put power to ic phone plug in nothing also?

 

Depends on the manufacture date of the head unit. I think aux-in became functional in '03. Check your PMs.
