Well im going to dive into the MINI world. Looking to buy a 2014 Countryman s because well thats as much as I can afford and I want the S model. Not sure what all these model abbreviations mean yet, whats mine? Main reason that brought me here was concern over the Direct-Injection Maintenance and cost to have cleaned. Also looking for other issues and concerns so I dont get ripped off or go into a purchase ignorant over a common issue. Help!

PS I have a 2013 SMART car and a 2012 Hyundai Accent. Im giving up the accent for a mini.

 

N18 engine in a Countryman 2014 S should not have a carbon issue. Never seen a real report of cleaning being needed. If it was needed an indy shop probably charges $400 or so to do it. People with 100K have not had reported the issue.

Get a Pre-purchase inspection from a qualified MINI mechanic.
