After browsing the forum for a while I joined today. I bought a 2009 Mini Cooper 2d hardtop for my daughter in August of 2016. I've been driving it mostly, to work and around town for errands. She turns 16 in October and will become the primary driver. Looks like I'll be losing my privileges, 😋. I've already told the wife I'm going to have to get my own Mini. Hopefully a 2door hardtop JCW. Now my wife had decided she wants a Countyman. Looks like we'll be a family of Minis.

I'm hoping to learn what it takes to tweak a JCW, or a 2.0L S to 270hp. That's my goal.

 

Welcome to NAM. Question, water or snow skiing as there is not too much of the latter in SE Carolina.

And if you have not gotten your own MINI by the time 16 hits, I believe there is a Carolina chapter of PATCM, Parents Addicted to Child's MINI, where you are able to meet with others as you to come up with reasons (excuses) on why it is imperative that you are able to drive the MINI.

The R60s is the wife's and R57 is the daughter's, she is just starting to drive. I drive either when ever I can...so fun!

 

Snow skiing. I used to go quite a bit before I had a family. Hope to get back at before too long. PATCM sounds interesting, 😅. And I'll definitely be checking the threads for mods on whatever car I end up with.

Congrats sounds like you got the MINI disease now which is all good.

 

You may be right. I've decided to hold off on the wife's ride until we can get a 2017 w/nav in the mid 20's. Got to get mine in the same price range too.

You wife is getting her Mini.
A guy needs to have a JCW model, for his own health and welfare!

You know it. I actually found two that we were going to look at in Charlotte tomorrow. That was until I decided to wait and get the 2.0 in the 2017. I'll definitely let everyone know when I get mine.
