I just recently purchased my first, a 2006 Mini Cooper S, and I have to say this thing is fun to drive. I bought it to be a daily driver to and from work but find myself having to hide the keys from the wife to make sure it is here when I need to leave.
Having always owned trucks and big vehicles it was a little intimidating at first to be so low to the ground and in such a small vehicle. After two weeks I have found a new appreciation for small and low and think a sticker on another Mini I saw summed it up perfectly "Street Legal Go Kart".
I see there is a wealth of information here and hope to learn a lot and at some point be able to return the knowledge to other new users.

The 06 in my opinion is the best gen 1 Mini out there and the "S" is all good!
I started my addiction with an 05 MCS and soon had three, then eight, then started selling them and finding an 06 MCP JCW model for my daily driver.
I don't know, if your current one is automatic or stick, but most women like automatics, so buy a stick the next time!LOL
