Picked it up yesterday. '17 Clubman with Premium and HK sound. Funny story (I hope), my wife and I saw a Chilli red with white stripes listing at the dealership so we decided to drop by and check it out. On our way to the entrance, we saw this metallic blue in the lot and told ourselves "this is the one". We drove it home without even checking out the other one lol.
Any tip and instruction in clay, wax, and seal is very appreciated. We're also thinking about adding stripes. This is my wife's so we're not gonna go crazy with all the mods.
Messy garage? That looks cleaner than my kitchen! You'll get lots of advice on wax and clay...I'm very traditional and like anything with carnauba wax. Currently using Meguiar's Gold Class Carnauba Plus Premium Paste three or four times a year. Important to get a coat on sooner than later to protect from bird poop. Shouldn't need to clay bar the car yet, I usually do that once a year after winter to get all of the junk off. My car is five years old still looks brand new except for stone chips on the front. Nice looking car...I'd skip the stripes.
I would clay the car immediately since once one can tell how long the car was sitting in the lot. You wanna get rid all the surface dirt ASAP. Then take a look to see if the Dealer had install any swirl on the car. If they did, give it a light polish. I will use something like Megurie M205, or similar Cleaner Wax, then finish with a good coat of wax
Welcome to NAM and congratulations! Check out mightystripes.com for some stripe options. We used them for our stripes on our R53. As far as clay, wax and sealants... This weekend I did the following to one of my own vehicles. I use Adam's Polishes car wash, then I use their detail spray and clay bar and finally I finish it up with their paint sealant. Really makes the paint shine and provides great protection for 6 months. When you wash the vehicle the water just beads and rolls off. It really does provide great protection against the elements. Let me know if you'd like to check them out and I'm here if you have any other questions.

Thank you everyone. Here's another picture. A little bit about the car, I forgot to mention it was a dealership loaner with 3k miles. It's been sitting on the lot for a couple weeks, that's why I decided to give it a thorough clay and polish. The car is not that big but it's really breaking a sweat, considering how hot/crazy Seattle's weather was last week.
