Recently picked up a R53 GP.
Haven't had a Mini for about 20+ years
Had a 64' Riley Elf and a 67' Morris Cooper 'S'.
I love the 2006 GP as there are hints of the old school Mini all over it....and the A/C of course is awsome
Great site! It was very helpful during my purchase with all the advice/knowledge here.

Congrats the GP is the best R53, I love both my GPs.
I also have a 66 Cooper S, but have had a soft spot for the Elf and would love one of them.
Let us know if we can help you with anything.

Thanks All!
The Elf was fun! Not real fast, but it never overtemped with that small 998cc in it...
Yes, it sure "WAS" from California! After 3185 miles it no longer is!
. Bought it with about78k, now has about 84k.
When I got it there were no run flats....decided to buy it and road trip it home without a spare ....what could go wrong? But, we made it with no issues.
Drove from Oakland area, to Cucamonga, then through Palm Springs, then Pheonix, then El Paso, and San Antonio, on to Baton Rouge, and Pensacola through Ocala and on home to Naples.
That car ate up the hills, didn't even blink on those long stretches of stright roads in the west and the only issue I had when I got home the AC didn't get cold enough when in south Florida.
My quick fix and lesson was to buy a can of AC coolant and squirt some in according to the bottle directions....wrong! That car is very temperamental on the exact weight it likes. A little experimenting and I was able add the correct amount. We have been in the 90's here and I am all cool again.
