New DIY Mini Mechanic

I'm hoping to get great advice on how I can repair and maintain my 09 Mini Clubman S - purchased used now 2 years ago last Feb - and it was my very first vehicle! Because I am in local policing I was able to join the auto club on our military base here a year ago. They have a pretty good set-up. Nearly everything you could possibly need. And my first project was to replace the Timing Chain Tensioner! My death rattle went away so i must have did it right!
Thanks for reading,
Mitchell

Hi Mitchell,
Congrats on getting the tensioner completed. I have been wrenching for over 30 years but my 13 Countryman justa is my first mini. I just retired in Dartmouth after 35 years in the RCAF. Drop me a PM if you ever need any help.

Congrats and glad you knocked out that fix. You are not too far away from Newfoundland where MINI raced for some time in the targa.

Welcome, the forum is full of great information and advice. You have a Gen2, read the threads in that section and you will find that someone has probably already had any problem you could ever imagine and posted the fix.

Motor on!
