Hi from Oregon

Hey guys. New mini owner from Oregon here. Picked up an 03 r53 a few days ago and I love it. Only has 74k mikes on it. I'm hoping it'll be mine for a long time. Blue and black interior with heated seats. Has a few quirks but nothing major. I plan on a 15% pulley; intake, and msd coil/wires. Madness Motorworks is local to me too.

Welcome and Congrats

Good to see another one of these lower mileage R53's pop up. Let us know if we can help.
Also save your money as the Msd coil won't net you any power and doesn't fit right as the stock screws won't mount it.

Thanks for the advice. I'm not doing he coil for power gains, I'm doing it for reliability. My stock coil has the terminal rust issue. Also Madness Motorworks provides the correct bolts for mounting

Welcome to NAM. Congratulations on the purchase and what a great find with such low miles. The Madness pulley is a great upgrade. We sell a lot of those. I'd also recommend a rear sway bar, best bang for your buck mod. If you have any questions or need any help let me know. Got any pictures?

This is the only one I've got so far. It'll take more when I get it all cleaned up. Just conditioned the leather this morning.

Very nice R53! Harder and harder to find with low miles. Really like the stripes, too. Extra nice! Post more pics and let us know as you go on mods.

Thanks! I really like it. I wanted a British racing green one BAD but this gem popped up and I've always been a sucker for blue. I'm in Wilsonville, about 20 minutes south of Portland. Nothing for mods yet but l just replaced the coolant bottle tonight and found out I have the number 3 terminal rust issue on the coil. I'm going to stop by Madness Motorworks this next week I think and pick up a coil, wires, and plugs to put in. I'll be doing a valve cover gasket sooner than later as well seeing as I noticed a good amount of seep coming from the edges of the cover. Further plans are intake, and pulley. I'm undecided on exhaust work. If I do anything, it would be a header and keep the stock catback. It's really plenty throaty for my taste.

Hey, I am in Selma Oregon on the 199 redwood Highway which heads towards Crescent City, Calif. @ about 70 miles. A good road to work a nice S JCW, or any other MINI!
Tons of good roads in Oregon, for Mini Cruising!
I also have an 05 Mini S, that I have made into a great car and have cruised all over the west with it.
