I purchased my R53 JCW in August after looking for more than 8 months. New to NAM and looking forward to learning more about my MINI. Almost bought a new MCS in 2011 but couldn't quite pull the trigger, glad I finally did!
Nice! Make sure to check out Minis on the Mack August 5. Trying to break the world record (third attempt) for the most Minis in a row, while driving across the Mackinac Bridge. There's a FB page or contact Mini of Grand Rapids.

The guys at Detroit Tuned mentioned that last summer. Unfortunately I didnt have mine in time. How close were you to breaking the record last year?
I just had the hood repainted to clean up some stone chips and thought about doing carbon fiber stripes on the hood and covering the roof in carbon fiber to go with a red and black theme. Haven't re-striped the car yet because not sure I want to move away from the classic red and white, as you've pointed out :-)

If you just got it repainted it's a good idea to go ahead and do a clear bra on it as the new paint always chips easier than the original. I learned on my 2nd MINI the hard way as it looked horrible a year later.

I was thinking the same thing. A good friend of mine has been doing vehicle graphics for 25-yrs and I was talking to him about it the other day. I don't drive on many dirt roads but I imagine those chips show up like a speck of pepper in a bowl of milk!
