Stationed at Key West Fleet ASW school for a few months TDUINS driving a TR back in '65 there was and still is a very active sports car club, EVSCC (Ecurie Vitesse Sports Car Club). There were regular solo and rally meets and a couple of trips up to Sebring for track day. Hope you can plug in to some of that with a chapter in your area.

My son is currently attached as a Corpsman Surgical Tech with Marines at Camp Pendleton, CA. Just got to visit our first grandchild there.

I raced two cars in an SCCA weekend at Gainesville, Fla. Took first place in a regional in a CSR Elva, just like the one Elvis drove in "Viva Las Vegas." Took second in an SCCA National in my Mini Cooper S. Had the lead, but backed off when I saw oil pressure drop and nursed her home.

Thank you for your service! Were you assigned to any ships? Since my son is a surgical tech assigned to the Marines, the only Navy ship he has been on is the water ferry from the Museum to the Missouri at Pearl Harbor!

Now there's an assignment! I bet he would love to be stationed there. He did spend his first few years in Japan and thought that was great. We got to visit Scotland a few years ago and really enjoyed it.
