New to mini r53

Picked this up from a co worker. Bunch of small stuff needed to be done.
2003 r53 electric blue 6 speed nav, sunroof, heated seats, cruise and HK radio.
Broke it in the first 6 days by taking out oil pan.
Already changed oil pan, valve cover gasket with spark plug gaskets, fuel filter, oil and oil filter, cabin filter - it had 2 inches of gunk on it!
Left front hub, intake to intercoler gasket, gas cap.
Bought the cup holder from a local already.
Going to borrow a stock coil and go get it Smogged.

This thing is a blast in the mountains !

Congrats on your MINI, and welcome to NAM. R53s are great little cars; lots of fun out of the box but easy to mod for even more grins. Sounds like you've already found the perfect environment for a MINI: anything with curves and more curves. If you consider modding, a rear sway bar is a great upgrade that makes a noticeable difference (along with ditching runflat tires ((if applicable)).

Happy Motoring!

Welcome to NAM, Shawn and congrats on the beautiful blue MINI! I recently picked up an R53 and can't stop grinning. Sounds like you have been busy! This handy maintenance and service guide helped me when making sure everything was spot on before making mods:

Then, this performance upgrade guide really helped, and our expert Ken at Mini Mania was able to answer all my questions. If you have any questions, just ask here and if I don't know the answer I'll ask him:

Many start with a Sprint Booster to get rid of the throttle lag, and a cold air intake. Others like the Shark Injector ECU Upgrade because it unleashes extra horsepower and is adjustable:

In any event, please feel free to ask any and all questions. We've been with this brand for over 40 years on the street and race track.

Drive Hard. Drive Safe. Keep Grinning.

Already got two boxes stamped from minimana.com
Once smog is done next week a underdrive pulley is going on.
Underdrive belt is ordered.
Rear sway bar is on list
Maybe a r56 front brake upgrade also.
