05 Lotus now a 05 Mini Cooper S owner
Hi all! I just bought a 05 mini cooper s, been wanting one for a while now and I finally pulled the trigger. Bought it with 52k miles for 11k! I also own a 05 Lotus Elise, so you could say I'm into British cars. The mini will be my daily driver and will slowly add mods but not in any hurry to add power. Reasonable weight reduction and handling will be more of a priority.
I already bought new wheels that I need to put on. Needs new front bushings and alignment. I'm in Seattle and looking forward to meet others around the area and the forum.

Yeah...folks who lurk, then join...and lurk tend to get the most out of these boards....
I lurked for a few years....never had a reason to post for....hmm..3 years....so long I had to start a new name going from a perspective buyer to a modder once my warrenty ran out!!
Now I just post when board...and keep thinking about getting a replacement MINI ....
Keep thinking....hmm....soon....

No problem!!
The mini handles so well, all seasons don't really do these cars justice....not if you like to drive and view the car as more than basic transportation anyway!! A second set of rims can make winter storms kinda fun....ever see a 4x4 spin out trying to follow a "tiny" MINI in the snow?! Lol...I have, multiple times....they (the drivers) were always ok, but good modern snow tires are incredible!!
In some areas snows are needed, but sometimes a AGRESSIVE all season is good enough as a winter tire....even a UHP, while ok in the summer is terrible in more than a 1/4 inch of snow.....been there...done that!!

Beautiful car! Just picked up an 04 R53 with 79,000 miles for about 7K and it definitely brings a grin to my face! Love the Elise, and got to drive a right-hand model flat out on England's fastest racetrack, Thruxton, with one of Lotus' test race drivers!
Drive Hard. Drive Safe. Keep Grinning.
