Another Newbie...

Hi I am new member hoping to find more info. I have finally found the Mini I want and looks like I am going to purchase this weekend if everything works out. it is a 2011 countryman. A Justa? I was hoping some of you more Mini experienced guys could help me out before I buy it. It will be an extra car and my daily driver in New Hampshire (15 Subaru forester, 2000 vw cabrio, and a 2wd ranger). I only live a half mile away from work but I drive so I can pick up my twin 11 year old boys after school somedays. I am an HVAC mechanic and can fix whatever I need to but don't want a part time job repairing things over and over again. Is this thing going to drive me crazy or is it going to be a fun little car that I can strap my mountain bike to? I hope it is the latter because I am pretty excited about it. Thank you in advance!

Welcome to NAM. My advice is, if the prospective MINI is not being sold at a MINI dealer, get a PPI done by an experienced independent shop or at a MINI dealer. A pre-purchase inspection may reveal some issues that you can't see from a walk-around.

If you haven't done so already you might peruse the model and gen-specific forums for known issues & what other owners have experienced.

Good luck!

Welcome to NAM! It would be a good idea to get a PPI (pre purchase inspection) by a MINI specialist just so they know what common problem areas to look out for. This way you know if it's in good shape before you purchase it. The MINI is a great fun car. Just take care of it and keep up on the routine maintenance needs. If you ever need parts, we can help as we have them HERE. If/when something needs fixing, this forum will be a wealth of knowledge and coupled with our MINI parts pricing, it should be very helpful. If you ever need anything don't hesitate to give me a shout. Good luck!
