My Discovery

Hey,

Well... I hate writing these things.

Anyways.

About 7 months ago I was looking for a pre-owned car. My main goal was finding a car I would give a **** about after the buyers remorse settled in and the new-to-me feel had faded.
After 12 years selling cars and driving a new (demo) car every month or so. I really hated being on the other side of the desk as a buyer. It just plain sucks, my sympathy goes out to anyone shopping for a car.

I wasn't in the market for a Mini but I stumbled across a few in my searches and had always wanted one. It was kind of a dream car for me.. funny but true.
So I test Drove an 07 MCS that was the only MC in a 50 mile radius (in my price range) and instantly fell in love with the tiny monster of a driving machine that she was.
Long story short, after a ton of research and 2 hours of driving I ended up with the 06 MCS that ya see here. It had some issues in the first month that thankfully the dealer took care of. Even got a Cravenspeed 15% pulley install thrown in for free for my troubles.

7 months later.....

I f**king love my car and I will always have an R53 even if I get a newer MCS down the road. Clarice is MINE!! There maybe be many like it, but this one is MINE!!!

I look for excuses to drive Clarice...
The wife says "we need milk"..... I'm gone.
I think she's jealous.

My obsession continues....
Now I need a good radar detector.

I can relate. So can my dad. He's had his R50 since new in 2002 and he maintains it will never be sold. He's almost 60 and still harps his 5-speed is better than my 6.

I love to hear stories like this... especially with those endings! Minis hit the spot if you love to drive. Wish more people would give these cars a shot... I think the commute grind would become a lot more fun for everyone if they drove a Mini. Not only that, we'd have a lot more room on the roads around our traffic choked cities, and many more smiling drivers.

Mini makes getting out there on the road a lot of fun. I'm totally with Sean on this... when it comes time for errands, I'll do it! Don't like that local store? I'm more that willing to check out the grocery stores in the neighboring states if need be. Not a problem!

It's always great when you drive something that you just can't wait to get back into. I bet it makes waking up in the morning to go to work worth it. Glad you're enjoying Clarice.

lol, yea I usually take the long way there. Had a few folks here n there make fun of Clarice and I just tell them "your ignorance is showing" hahaha.
I tell everyone who asks me about it "Get one!" They are soo much fun to drive and customize.

Keeps me smiling for sure.

Thanks for the reply.
