Wow! That's just too cool that your car is on that ship! It's amazing just how tight a squeeze it is for those ships to pass through those locks!

In the meantime, I just arrived at work after my first daytime drive in my MINI. I'm so happy with my purchase and the options that I selected. I'm still grinning!

I read somewhere that many ships are designed with a beam no larger than can go through the panama canal. Very tight squeeze. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Panamax

Manon was on AIS passing Guatemala last night. The Volans Leader just finished passing through the Gatun locks.

Volans Leader is out of the canal, currently anchored in the bay.

Nice! Glad you could catch it on the way out. The Panama Canal Webcams were very temperamental late last week. Looks like the Volans Leader is out of range again. Will probably show up near Guatemala tomorrow. The Manon is headed towards Baja now.

My MINI is enjoying its time off the coast of Acapulco.

I didn't actually catch the Volans Leader in the lock, but a website that shows hourly snapshots happened to have that picture as the image for that particular hour of the day.

Getting close . Too bad the Volans can't skip Lazaro Cardenas and Long Beach and head straight to Heuneme.

Manon is being guided into Port Heuneme right now by the Lulapin and Simone T Brusco tugs.

The Manon is moored!

Takes about a day to unload. My MA let me know they are fast-tracking Clubmans so I am hoping for VPC tomorrow

That's awesome. I'm back from my trip and have put about 150 miles on my car now. Loving it even more than I thought I would. Not a single regret whatsoever!!!

Here's to hoping that yours arrives soon

My fJCW was accepted into the VPC at 9:00am PST today, with an ETA of 12/17 at the dealer. Next Thursday!

Home stretch

WW show my care as delivered to BMW now:

DELIVERED FROM PORT HUENEME, CA 11-12-2015 14:42:00 1
DISCHARGED PORT HUENEME, CA 11-12-2015 08:35:00 1

ASK MINI is saying at the port awaiting a shipping vessel . With my previous orders that indicated the VPC was finished and the car is waiting on Wagoneer Trucking (could already be on the truck)!

I am a little surprised. My dealer was saying the VPC is overloaded with cars right now. On the Manon alone there were 257 MINIs on GBSOU1381958 and 1510 BMWs on DEBRB1375417 (see BMW Manon tracking thread @ http://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho....php?t=1197866). The ship can hold ~6000 cars so there may be other booking numbers.
