Engine hiss during start-up?

So I just purchased a 2012 MCS about 3 weeks ago, very happy with my purchase so far, but I have already had to bring it in to the dealer to have the Thermostat replaced as the CEL turned on. My question here is, first thing in the morning during my first couple miles of driving, the engine has a loud hiss noise at high rev's.

This is different than the turbo spool (which is very loud and sounds amazing mixed with the Invidia exhaust note)

So I'm concerned about this loud hiss that happens at the top end of every shift but only until the engine warms up basically. Does anyone else experience this with their R56? And what could it be? My first thought was that it takes a few minutes for the oil feed to fully lubricate the turbo and I'm hearing the metal spinning.

Any input would be much appreciated as I'm just concerned about my new car D:

Hello Colt! Welcome to NAM. This section is for introductions. You may have better luck posting in the specified section of the forum for your year MINI here. As far as the noise, this appeared after the dealership replaced the t-stat and you heard nothing before this replacement?

No it has been there for as long as I've had it, not related to the replacement... just had to add that in there ^^

It is odd though, it would make sense if the engine made this sound all the time, but to do it for just a few miles until the engine is warmed up concerns me as if something is wrong.

Thank you for the welcome and suggestion, I will try posting there!
