new to the MCS crowd

Well finally went ahead and purchased a 2010 MCS for daily driving utilities.

2010 MCS 6sp. 45,000 miles,
I have a ton of questions but I figure I will use that search function first

first thing I noticed after driving it was, I got a shifter KART and the wife likes it Bunches and gave me the thumbs up for some sporty parts. she said within reason. 210ish HP at the wheel would be just fine. not sure how hard or spendy that will be. as long as its reliable and does not void the extended warranty I am good.

Names Dan,
East Coast Charleston SC area.

Welcome Dan,
Before you modify learn the car. Drive it a bit and understand the feel. How its going to react. As i tell anyone that asks the question i would attack the suspension first. Many people swear by the rear sway bar as the first modification.

I did motor first and now im trying to scrap together funds for sway bars and some springs. I wish beyond a doubt after driving other minis that i would have attacked the handling first.

Pics. The ride is a little on the jerry side. Probobly going to look at ways to soften the harsher bumps a little. Turns are great. Not much needed as far as rear sway bars. The front is a little sketch. While driving if you hit any kind of crown on the road way it wants to dart all over the place. Car tracks straight 90% of the time. Wonder if a strut brace would help some?

If you are not planning on lowering the car, Koni FSD shocks are reported to clean up the ride quality while maintaining handling. They are on sale now at the usual websites that advertise here.

I switched to Bridgestone Driveguard run-flat tires and the ride is much improved over the stock Continentals. Handling is still great.

Maybe you need an alignment as well?

It has potenza RE760 in 205/50r16. I do not care for run flats so won't be using them. A plug kit with tire pump is plenty good. We have roadside threw insurance Co so that's good enough. Just got an oil change since last oil change was 13,000 miles ago. Along with an alignment.

I hated the stock run flats too. The driveguards feel like regular tires, but still have the nice sharp turn in that run flats have. Just FYI.

Intercooler, high flow/cat-less catalytic converter, high flow air filter, colder spark plugs, and a tune should get you to that goal.

Koni FSD's for the R56 are here on sale, just remember Koni does not recommend these with lowering springs.
