Joining Mini community
Hi all,
I google everything when researching anything mini. I always seem to land on NAM, so I decided it was time to join in. Ive always just been an archive hound.
I am on my third Mini, first non runner. The first 2 soon became non runners in my possession, but they were super fun cars although not for long
First one was an 850 straight out of the uk; it still had MOT, but after getting into the body work, it became to overwhelming and I had to part out( this one is long gone)
Second was a van someone converted into handicap vehicle. Bought sight unseen, had oversills and a wooden/aluminum ramp in the back and a second story riveted and bondoed to the top. Soon after getting into this one it was apparent that I had another parts car on my hands. had a bright Idea that I would convert it into a pickup, but that plan fizzled out.(still have many good drivetrain parts)
Recently, I was on the hunt for a donor that I could combine with the salvageable van parts and build a track car, but it is so solid and original and surprisingly solid. This one does need a complete floor and interior, but every single panel looks to be original(maybe not boot lid/bonnet), brass hinges, glass in good shape dated to 1960, single sill, ect
I am going to attempt a light restoration and hopefully produce a nice little driver. Maybe, given this isn't a runner I can reverse the previous 2 outcomes.
Don't have pics of the first as it was 9 years ago
