New Mini Owner (R56 mcs)

Super excited.

Red with black stripes and roof. Very stock.

Has only one gotcha in terms of cosmetics....anyone know where to get this trim piece and a part number? DIY?

TIA and super happy to have a mini...been looking and waiting since year one....

Photo is by the dealer...I have to pick it up tomorrow. He just wanted me to know (great dealer...where I got a Jeep...he found the mini for me via his dealer methods...uberclean...). So, so, so looking forward to a mini!

Welcome to the MINI community. The dinged section looks like a belt line moulding that I'm sure ECS Tuning can help locate all of the proper part numbers etc. Enjoy your new ride.

That'a actually a lucky spot for a dent. Just remove and replace the trim bit. Had it been an inch lower, it would have been more expensive...

Welcome to NAM! Yes, that strip is pretty simple to replace. Parts here. Make sure to post up more pictures of your Mini when you get the chance.

One new question....putting some time into cleaning it up (I am owner #2) and wouldn't you just know it..., I found some long scratches. The material is intact.

Is there a simple way to just get the fabric of the base part and voila...fixed.

Pictures of the scratches are included/shown.

TIA

Looks like the leatherette ( vinyl type material ) is cracking , you have the leatherette which is pretty durable , don't see it crack too often unless you live down south and florida.

Replace the seat bottom and cushion which can be expensive or have an upholstery shop use a vinyl glue / bonding agent.

Thanks!

They are not cut...just deeply scratched if you will...so not sure an upholstery shop can do much, but will check.

I might be able to handle the part cost...do you have such or can you get such? Anyone - ebay was not much help, I'd rather get nailed and get a new part.
