I'll try this again. I'm at a loss. 2002 mini justa. 96000km Previous owner, new clutch at 85000km (rear main had leaked), I had to put new tires on almost immediately, went with an optimo all season. What happens is... I get wheel hop in 1st gear, but only after the car is good and warmed up, sometimes not for an hour. Car is basically idiot proof to get rolling, but after a while, and you can almost sense it, you have to either rev higher and engage, or have the wrath of the hop. Some have suggested mounts, I had all three replaced. Seemed to be getting better, but I think is was just hope.
Mechanic said everything underneath looked great on the car, struts, joints, etc. Another suggestion is flywheel hot spot. Don't know. Car shifts nicer than any stick I've had. Could tires be fluctuating enough after driving to cause this? Another post suggests metal washers in suspension to stiffen her up ? Anybody ?
