Mini in Austin

Just purchased a 2009 S 6 speed hatchback with 99,500 miles. Fantastic car, I am liking it! Replaced the leaking thermostat housing, spark plugs and timing chain tensioner this weekend, runs great now (knock wood).

Congrats, and don't forget to do oil changes early and often so you don't have any more issues with that timing chain.

Thanks for the advice, I sure will. That dip stick design doesn't help matters any.

I will likely end up changing oil twice per year at 3000 to 4000 miles, M1 0W40. Is it OK to change the filter every second oil change?

Do the filter every time: it effects oil pressure!

OK thanks will do. Is the new TC tensioner going to back out over time or was the original not torqued to spec?
