04 r53, new to minis... lets build!

Hi all, 1st time mini owner, but not a first time builder.Gonna be a bolt on boy for a while. Just did a brake job and went to Hart drilled and slotted rotors, with ceramic pads. full synthetic oil change, and a basic tune up with a new coil, and NGK plugs and wires. i have plans and ideas, but also questions and opinions wanted?

First up is cosmetic... im a fan of carbon fiber. Ive found a few places online selling carbon fiber hatches, does anyone have any experience with these? my hatch has some rust near the latch and i dont like rust. and I dont like body work.... id rather replace the whole thing lol... so yeah, if it fits well, and it isnt too overly difficult to transfer over the internals and electronics, im gonna get one of those soon. (and probably a hood to match)

2nd up.. suspension... im gonna go with the megan coilovers with damper adjustment. My question is, what supporting mods should i get serious about? Ive seen front and rear upp bars, i though i saw some front upper cross bars? looks like they went from tower to fender, dont remember where to find them though. ive seen the eibach "aint roll kit". looked like upgraded sway bars and poly bushings. so yeah, opinions on what i should get to support the coilovers. anywhoe. Im Jake, look forward to learning more about my car as i go. Ive already read a lot of the stickies and am learning a lot. look fwd to getting to know some of you as well.

Welcome to the MINIacs.

Sounds like you have planned your MODs well.

Brakes: don't forget the flush and fill, and I'd you haven't done it I revomend Stainless Steel braided brake lines.

Several of the venders here have the tower braces various makes and designs, as well as the lower braces.

As for carbon fiber body panels, no experience with them for the MINI. I would be first concerned with fit and finish for the price. I would hate to spend $$$ for a panel and it require additional work to fit properly. Maybe some members with CF panels can chime in.

Best of luck with your MODs.

Motor on!
