Replacement Keys

I recently purchased a used 2008 Mini Cooper R52 that came with only one key. I don't have a dealer nearby so wonder if there is a way to purchase a new key with the remote control features. Anyone have any ideas?

I would call whatever dealer is "closest" to you and I believe they can cut and program the fob with just the VIN, maybe they could just charge your CC and mail the key and fob to you.

Yup...
Call the dealer...
You will need to fax documents proving ownership...
They can ship you a key....a cars computer can have a limited number of keys in the computer, then it must be replaced...but that is rarely an issue unless the prior owners lost lots of keys.
A newly cut eBay key will open the door, but WILL NEVER START THE MOTOR...they are missing the chip.
Dealer will charge around $175-225 if I recall right....but the ONLY option for a WORKING key.
