Hello From Virginia

I am Charles and while I don't own a Mini just yet; one has been offered to me: a 2002 Mini Cooper S with "180k...Clean Title....Very good condition....6 speed super charged with cat back exhaust, new brakes, tires and rims also have stock, leather seats no rips and they are heated, power mirror doors windows sunroof,DVD player with new speakers." He wants to trade me for my 2000 Ducati 996 Biposto along with equipment. I ran the VIN and the car doesn't have any reported accidents. He is the fifth owner.

I am interested and have read that the issues that MINI had to deal with were pretty much dealt with by 2006 (oil leaks, rust spots, etc). I commute one hour to work and my commute is in a manual 1992 Honda Accord wagon. The mini would give me some points with my 7 year old son haha. This would be a commute/project car.

I would like some feedback from you guys and gals. Thanks in advance.

**I made an album showing the pics I was sent. I believe you just select my name and find the photo album from there. I'm using an iPad at the moment and could not attach the pics**

Car looks nice in the pictures. I like the wheels, but the "Brembo knockoffs" look like the plastic caliper covers. I would have a mechanic that is knowledgeable about the brand check the car out. Five owners in 12 years seems like a lot. I'm more familiar with the 2nd generation cars so can't get very specific with you. Depending on your location, there may be a Mini club close by that you could contact and get some input from members. Where are you located?

Ok; thanks for your input Vetsvette. I planned on having an independent mechanic look at the car first and if there is nothing major, do the trade. The number of owners is a lot I think also. I am located in Virginia Beach.
