New.

Hello,

I have owned a R56 08 MCS for over a year now. I figure it was time to join the NAM forum as whenever I googled for a part or reviews, it would bring me here. So thanks to all who have helped me thus far who don't even know it! Haha.

I hope to find more people to motor with. I just moved from Buffalo, NY to the Rochester, NY area.

I am not much of a mechanic but I love cars and do what I can. I have a passion to drive. I also got a motorcycle license this summer and drive a 81 Suzuki.

Cheers to new friends who share that same passion! Now let's motor.

Welcome! One thing you'll NEVER find is a shortage of like-minded MINIacs who enjoy motoring together. There are many MINI motoring clubs in the region you would enjoy each of which regularly motor the roads together. Definitely join them. Many clubs are listed right here in NAM or Motoring Alliance. Not only that but you'll certainly find folks that are (active) members of multiple clubs who are willing to travel 1,000+ miles to attend an event. If you have a passion to motor, you simply must join a MINI motoring club. These events are just special! There are two in striking distance of you, MANY others in the overall region. We belong to five motoring clubs and regularly attend events for each. You'll find each has it's own "personality" so you really can find a club you most "connect" with. Some are small grass-roots type clubs, some are incredibly organized. When I was first invited to attend an event (by THMMC), I thought: "oh, God... a MINI club?! A bunch of gear heads that just want to talk about the nuts and bolts on their MINIs" (snore). The opposite was the case! If folks talked about their MINIs (in every club we're members of) it was with big dopey grins like proud parents talking about their kids. If they talked about the toys they purchased, it was to share how it made the motoring experience even more pleasurable. The event we attended (and each since with THMMC and the other clubs we run with) are really focused on motoring together, and simply hanging out with others that share their passion. There's a very real comraderie with these clubs all of which are just special experiences. We've made so many friends along the way! One club president said it best that's true for all clubs and enthusiasts: "I didn't know my MINI came standard with so many friends!" Join a club and attend some events, and you'll find the truth in it and many friends along the way in your journeys! Motor on!
