Took the plunge!

I've had MINI fever for the past few months and after following this forum for a month, I learned far more than would otherwise have been possible. Armed with that knowledge, I bought a 2012 Cooper S with 13,000 miles and a MiniNext warranty yesterday afternoon. I want to thank everyone on the board for sharing their knowledge & experience.

My first impression of the car is just how much fun I've been missing while driving my Volvo. What I sacrificed in size I gained in adrenaline! My wife thinks I've officially hit "midlife crisis" mode, but I told her better a MINI than another woman!

I've already put 180 miles on the car trying to find every twisting two lane road in eastern Pennsylvania. I've kicked it into Sport mode a couple of times and I can't believe the steering and acceleration response! Who knew that you could have this much fun and still average 36.5mpg? (Other than you folks, of course) ;-)

Congrats... The MiniNext warranty is an excellent thing to have. The other nice thing is that these cars hold their value.

Enjoy!

We bought our '12 MCS a year and a half ago. It had 16k miles on it, now has 34k. We've done two cross country trips in it, it's been a blast. Enjoy your new ride..

Congratulations! Welcome aboard. After a month or two your wife may wish that it was another woman You will be spending more time with your MINI! These things are addictive. Look for a club in your area, they will send you in the right direction for those twisty roads you're looking for.

Thanks for the warm welcome!

I love driving it so much I just cancelled a plane ticket from Philly to Atlanta so I can take the MINI on an extended drive. Can't wait to see how I feel about the car after a straight 10 hours behind the wheel. Looks like I need to buy an OEM arm rest this week...

If you are looking for a great road... try 443 from the river to Gold Mine Road then Gold Mine Road over the mountain (Historic Hill Climb road)... one of the very best fun drives east of the River.

Welcome to the MINIaics...

Motor on!
