Bay Area DIY Auto Service/Lessons?

Hey All,

I recently purchased an '04 R53 w/ 32k miles. I've always wanted to mod/track my cars but never was comfortable doing so bc they were leases and didn't want yo risk voiding my warranty. Anyway, she's fully paid off and well out of warranty - so no more excuses!

I really want to learn how to take care of (and work on) her myself and am willing to make an investment of time and money to do so, but am not really sure where/how to do that. Are there DIY auto garages/services/teachers that I can hire to work with me on my car so I can learn as I go? I live in the Bay Area...

Thanks!

-Matt

I've heard about this DIY garage in Fremont: http://liftedworkshop.com/. I have no personal experience with them.
They don't seem to provide the instruction and mentoring you're looking for, but perhaps they can make some recommendations.
