New owner of a 2003 Cooper S!

Hello all!

I bought a 2003 Mini Cooper S today, it is my first Mini. I am super excited! I plan to do some minor mods and use it as a daily driver. Hopefully I will learn lots of information from you guys and contribute to the value of this forum. I am in Montgomery Alabama. Anyone from nearby on here? I would like to get in a local group in my area.

I wouldn't mind someone more familiar with Minis to look over my engine.
It only has 84,xxx miles, but I am unfamiliar with common problems and preventative maintenance that others have from experience.
