New to NAM and a New 05 Mini Owner!

Hello, I just discovered this site while looking for a center arm rest for my new to me 2005 Mini Cooper Type S Hatchback. Does anyone have a link to a site for an arm rest that will hold up and isn't a flimsy piece of plastic junk??

I had never driven a Mini until recently when i moved to Washington, DC. I live in the district and street parking a full size GMC Sierra pick-up was next to impossible most of the time. I found my Mini on craigslist in NC and I have to say I love this zippy little beast.

I need to find a good mechanic in the Washington, DC area.

Well hey to the site and any info you guys may have on a good center arm rest and a mechanic will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. bob

I got mine from ECSTuning:
http://www.ecstuning.com/Search/Site...3376/ES253376/

It took about 5 minutes to install. Enjoy the ride.

Welcome to NAM, I'm sure that you'll find a good shop with some members from your area but I would really recommend HELIX13 in PA, they are worth the trip I live in NYC and I go to him, they are one of the best MINI specialist in the country together with Way Motor Works and others. Good luck

Thanks for the mention rphox. One of the most popular simple upgrades to the center area.

Have the same armrest....
Functional... Solid...generally one of the better ones around imo...
Not perfect...The e-brake is kinda covered since the top does not quite fold up all the way...but youblearn pretty fast how to pull up the ebrake handle to park....
Back in "the day" there were 6 or more competing armrests....with 3 different oem versions also added to the mix....some were flimsy... Some resulted in the loss of the cupholder or needed complicated installs....
The oem "euro" unit imo is the winner if you CAN swing the $$....
It was never sold by dealers in the us if I recall...was never tested in crashes...but several mini parts are like that...drivers side parcel shelf (replaces the knees bolster with a shelf) is another "gray market" oem import part that is nice if you can get it, but kinda $$.
