Finally...
Finally...
Hello everyone. My name is Mark and I am living in Charleston, S.C.
I am active duty military and was overseas when I fell in love with the Mini. I actually had ordered one from the overseas purchase program to accept delivery when I returned to the states. Long story short, I got scared because I had to drive it cross country with my family (4 of us, and I am 6'4) plus bags etc, and well...I was concearned about the room. So, I got a Dodge Challenger instead.
The Challenger was problems from the start. I had numerous issues, from sunroof exploding while driving, to being hit time after time, and then most recently the never ending recall letters I get. Not to mention I can pass everything but a gas station! Finally I said that's it! I am going to test drive a Mini. Went down to the local Mini dealer and drove a new to me, certified Mini Cooper. Left that afternoon in it! Love this car. I dont know why I didnt pull the trigger on it originally and deal with the grumbling kids as we trekked across this great country of ours!
So, I am the proud new owner of a 2011 Mini Cooper R-56. Chili Red with a black roof. I am excited about all the Mini farkle I can get to really make it my own. Well, thats my story. Wanted to stop in and say hello. Hope to see some of you out motoring someday!

welcome! I just moved away from Charleston, so no Chili red meetups... but you made a wise decision... lots of great rides around town (read: back roads, not I-26)... the local dealer does pretty good service too (did my JCW engine kit there)... good luck, and get busy reading the forums here...
