Hey everyone! Im new to the mini world and i just picked my 2003 MCS up yesterday. Its gray with 155k on it. Its in beautiful shape and I already love the car. It was a one owner and garage kept. It Rides really nice, smooth, handles well. decent power. still feels a bit slow compared to my decently modded Subaru but none the less still a fun car. I did have one small concern, I noticed a little valve noise when i got it home today, oil looked ok but it was hard to tell as i just changed it. Its not too loud but its noticeable, and Im just curious if it is normal as its not something I am used to. Thanks everyone and i look forward to Mini ownership!

 

Cool to see people still buying r53 minis good luck man. Its fun when you get a decent amount of power under the hood.

 

Welcome aboard! I have an 04 R53 and do not notice any noise. Keep an eye.... ear on it to make sure it does not get worse.

I'll get some pics sometime in the next couple days, I'll also post pics of the subie. They are both filthy right now and today is bath day.

Most vehicles I've owned have had 130-160 + on them and I've never really had any problems, it all really depends on how they are taken care of. This one will be primarily my wife's daily driver but I couldn't get an n/a car if a boosted one was an option haha. Any advise I should know?
