finding minis in other showrooms via interne

if a person finds a mini in another state thats a few hours away, how should a person go about getting that car?

should he/she call that dealership in that state directly, or is it beneficial to go to nearest mini dealer, tell them i've found a car in another state, and can they ship it to me via their dealership?

what happens then? does the price increase? which method is better? what should be anticipated in the deal for me: negatively and/or positively?

thanks.

To my knowledge, dealers have to do some 'horse trading' and then there is transportation cost involved. Whether by truck or someone drives it and racks up some miles. If you're serious about the car, you can ask a local dealer but chances are you will get the better deal by going to get it yourself. Good luck.

I purchased a new vehicle a couple of years ago and I saw the model and options I wanted listed online at a dealership in Cleveland, Ohio. I told my dealership about it and they called the dealership in Ohio to see if there was a vehicle that my dealership had in their inventory that the dealership in Ohio might want. Of course, the other dealership had a vehicle in mind they wanted to trade, so they brought the vehicle the Ohio dealership wanted to them and picked up my vehicle and brought it back to Chicago.

I had to pay $550 to have mine shipped from a Carmax dealership in TX to a Carmax in Chicago. It was the model I wanted and I saw all the pics online.

A couple hours away? If you were in my state I'd give you a lift over to that dealer for the price of a meal and gas. Surely someone you know would be willing too?

Some dealerships still have 2013 countrymen, so I'm watching to see how low their prices will go.
Thanks again to all.
