Hello- Selling my 911 and replacing w/ MCS

I'm going to sell my Porsche in the spring and I'm strongly considering replacing it with a 05-06 MCS. I have joined here to learn as much about them as I can from all you MINI enthusiast.

regards,

Mike

Welcome to NAM Mike, and hopefully we'll count you among the legion of MINI owners/enthusiasts soon!

You might read through the First Gen buyer's guide on Motoring File, found here for info on common issues to be aware of.

I'd also suggest a PPI (pre-purchase inspection) especially if the car is being sold privately or from a non-MINI dealer.

Best of luck with your search! 2005-6 MCSs are great cars to be sure; well worth the patience and time involved in finding the right one.

The earlier 911's are bring good money right now for unmolested ones ( much like the 993 always have) and I wnat to take advantage of that. I will get another air cooled 911 at some point but I want a molested one. Probably a midyear with a 3.2 or 3.6 in it. The one I have now is just to nice to mod. I want one that is stripped down to the essentials ( so it's light) but with a healthy motor...

Figured a MCS would fill the void until the right 911 hotrod came along.

I'm happy to entertain some kind of trade....

Mike

Thank you for the welcome..

I did read the buyers guide and coming from the old 911's I understand the value of a good PPI....great advice

Thank you

Mike

I did that switch in 2003. Went from an '83 SC Cab to an '03 MCS. I've had 5 P-cars and loved them all. When I sold the MINI I looked for a clean 993 but couldn't find one. I bought a Lotus Elise instead. That was a blast to drive but I didn't use it enough and sold it. I recently moved across the country and decided to get another MINI. I searched for 2 months and found an '06 JCW with 20K original miles on it just last weekend. It is now my daily driver.
