I would like to start off by thanking all the members of this forum who continue to post their experiences with their Mini's; good and bad. It has encouraged me to take on the task of owning my 2002 MCS. I'm a active Army soldier with over 15 years in service. After my last deployment in 2012 I returned to Texas and purchased a 2013 Mustang GT in which I totally went overboard on making it the loudest, and fastest machine in central Texas. Afterwards, I realized that I needed another vehicle to get around as a DD. Well, one of my buddies sold me his Mini Cooper S for around $8000 with 72K miles on it. I test drove it only to discover that it needed new bushings all around and that their was a terrible clanging noise under the hood. After skimming this website I found out that it was the supercharger. I took that baby off and put on the Sprintex supercharger. Since then I have replaced all the bushings, drive shafts, power steering pump, upgraded to K&N Typhoon CAI, 17" Enkei wheels, upgraded all exterior and interior bulbs to LED's, new bonnet stripes, replaced the factory stereo and speakers, spark plug wires, and spark plugs. New belts. Ported intake manifold, and many more to come. I know it's not fair to compare my Stang to the Cooper, but i will say that it is fun to drive something that handles 5 times better even though the power isnt there. I will soon post pics of her when it stops raining here. Once again, thanks to all for the wonderful post. The Mini Community is just as strong as any other. Proud to be a part of it.
