Winter Tire/Wheel Combo

I am seeking advice regarding planned winter tires purchase for my '06 GP.

I have a NIB set of Kosei 17X7.5 that I will use to mount winter tires. The seller of the wheels recommends using 215/45X17 tires. I now realize that a 205 (narrower) tire would have been preferable using a different size wheel. Since I already have wheels and am shopping tires, please provide any helpful information. I would like to make use of the wheels and not have to buy another set just for the sake of using 205s. Please advise. Thanks

Question regarding winter tires purchase: Why does Tire Rack note "built up to 6/06 versus 7/06 and later?" Does it have something to to do wheel stud size as someone told me?

That sounds like the change date from 12mm to 14mm wheel bolts.
Check with a tire seller to see if 205s can be mounted on those wheels. Not an expert, but I can't imagine you couldn't do it.

Thank You

12 - 14mm change seems to be the correct answer. Thanks again.
