Hi all,
My first post, would like to say hello and would like to know what would be the correct forum to ask questions about race prepping a Mini and various other questions.

I currently run NASA-AZ in TTU. Run a 565 rwhp NSX widebody. Fun car but not something I'm going to take into race group.

Very seriously considering a 2003 to 2005 Mini S.

Would like to discuss the pro's and con's with the car on track with those that have experience.

Where should I go to find this info.
Help is much appreciated.

Yeah you're just not really going to find that kind of information here. I can't think of anyone on the forums who is racing a mini in even any of the SCCA classes. What were you thinking of running? Showroom Stock? Prepared classes? I'm not even sure where the mini really fits into many of the SCCA classes like improved touring.

If you have to ask the internet about prepping a race car it's probably best to just take it to a shop and have them deal with it. Do you have a competition license?

If you have an idea of where you want to play class wise we might be able to help then.

I'd love to see someone racing a mini though.

Yes, now after looking through the forum, I realized this was the wrong place to be to ask about racing Mini's.

In NASA, the Mini S will class in TTC in Time Trials and PTD is Race Group with the base add of +14 points, plus the mods I will do, another 39 points, for a total of 53 added points takes it from a base class of TTE to TTD which is an up class of 2 and also puts it in PTD for race group due to the 15.3 P/W ratio it would have.

Learned a long time ago there's to many keyboard racers out there to trust anything but real experience. Talking with those that actually race the platform is only a starting point and what I was looking for when I posted what I did asking for contacts.

Being that I own a racing team and have years of experience of racing in TT, a comp license and being a Senior Instructor for NASA, I think I have just a little experience and can handle prepping a race car that I have experience with such as my NSX without dropping it off somewhere, since I own a shop, and hoping they know what their doing or if they have actual race experience.

Last year, 2012, I finished 3rd in TTR and 5th in TTU and won the UMS Time Attack Series Championship in unlimited. This year I will finish 3rd in TTU for the season with my NSX in NASA-AZ.

But I appreciate your concern and help.
