New, new to me mini owners!
New, new to me mini owners!
Hello all! The wife and I recently purchased Emmie, an 05 BRG/Blk R52 Cabrio S with the H/K and chrono gauge kit. This is our first Mini and convertible and couldn't be happier with it. It only had 36K miles and the top looked new so I had to jump on it.
I've always liked the Mini cooper, new and old (bought the new Italian job when it came out), but just now got around to getting one. Why did I wait. I've got way faster cars, but none as fun as Emmie.
I can't leave anything stock, my 00 Z28 is more aftermarket than GM, wife's 05 GTO is modded nicely, my 87 Fiero GT is going through a full blown redo, and her 77 F100 is lightly "personalized" so mods on Emmie was a forgone conclusion.
I tinted the windows the first week (20% sides, 2% Rear), bought a WMW 17% pulley and belt last week, and have colder NGK's, K&N drop in, and Alta tensioner stop due in this week, so hopefully this weekend or next at the latest Emmie will be even more fun! When the GTO is paid for in FEB I'll be getting a Craven speed CAI, MSD wires and plugs, and hopefully shortly after a water to air IC, Megan Header, and Miltek Exhaust with a tune to follow. Eventually I plan on a JCW Brembo kit and the usual suspension bolt ons but one thing at a time.

Last 3 pics are right after I tinted it and sent them to wife at work so she could see it so pay no attention to the clutter around it or paper towels on roof!

Oh, I thought the paper towels were a new mod. Anyway, congratulations on getting your BRG Cabrio 'Emmie'. Fine-looking car with obviously dozens of new mods planned. You'll like it here at NAM. Unlike me, there are many technically knowledgeable posters available for advice, suggestions, etc. My wife and I have an '09 Jaguar XF and a '14 MCS Roadster (ETA 10/5), so I can't match your fleet of vehicles. Enjoy your MINI and don't forget to wave at fellow MINI owners!
We got the wave down soon as we bought the car, just seemed natural. I browsed for a while before joining doing some research now can't wait to get my hands dirty. As far as fleets go mine is old and having too many projects means more down time for some of them. The cooper just pushed my camaro back at least 6 months and fiero a year or more, Oh well the mini will do fine until then!
At least you have a MINI in your driveway. Mine is due at the dealership around October 5th, so I'm driving a leased Fiat 500 until my Roadster arrives. My wife hates it, but I enjoy driving the little bugger everywhere.
