Hi All, just got my first 2008 MCS and I love it. I need to get the engine number and I cannot find it. Does any one have an idea where is it located?

 

Curious as to why you need the number but whatever. I am not sure where all you will find numbers on the engine but I recall seeing a string of numbers stamped in the engine wall behind the mount point for the exhaust manifold and gasket.

I don't know that you will see it without tearing down the turbo, cat, and exhaust manifold.

Thanks, I'll look there. I need it for the traffic department, they asked for a print with the engine number to transfer the documents to my name. I am in Rio de Janeiro.

 

Finally I found it. The access is under the car, the frontal part of the engine and the number is located right behind the EGO sensor on the driver side. Tricky.
