Ordered and almost home!

Hi Everyone,
Ordered my first MINI (AKA papillon noire), also my first manual transmission. It safely crossed the Atlantic, and is waiting to be transported to the dealership. Any advice on owning it/driving a stick...

Thanks,

Yves

Congrats! You're gonna love it.

My advice: Don't get frustrated if you stall a lot. When you first start out.. you will stall a lot. And I personally stayed away from steep hills until I learned how to 'hold' the car without the clutch being to the floorboard. You'll want to practice on minor hills without people near you until you feel you've got it.
Good luck! Once you get the hang of it.. you'll wonder why you didn't get a manual sooner. =)

Welcome to NAM and congrats on your new MINI. Pics to follow soon I hope.

A very big empty parking lot will be your best friend until you get the hang of your new manual MINI. KrisMIss is right, be cautious of steep hill until you get the knack of the clutch and gas pedal combination.

Grats Yves on acquiring your MINI and welcome to the NAMily!

The fun is just beginning!

Like Mr. T stated we can't wait to see pics of your little one... we love pics... yes we do!

KrisMiss and Mr. T offer good advice in learning to drive a stick. You will find that its easier than you imagine and in short time you will be rowing through the gears like a seasoned driver!

Ahead lay many miles and smiles for you and your MINI!

Motor On!
