Hello everyone. I'm joe as you can see and I'm buying a MINI.

It's a friends and fellow forum members car, 04 R53

So I already need to do the Supercharger and that's coming this week and I'm curious about what other seals and gaskets I need to do but not make "while you're in there" stupid expensive.

I will also need to do shocks and a clutch sometime soon. But I'm excited none the less. The car has a 6 speed, nav, sunroof, xeonon headlights, etc etc. it's going to be my first modern car. I've mainly driven older Mercedes diesels but have always wanted a miata or MINI

Sooooo, tell me what I need to know. I have a manual for the car already from a friend And a ton of tools. So I'm prepared, it's going to be nice to pay less that diesel price for once( I remember when diesel was dirt cheap and I'm not 24!)

Welcome to NAM and congrats on your new MINI. You know what they say, "Seeing is believing." Where are the pics?

currently on my phone and I do not deal with photobucket at the moment.

I was looking at getting a supercharger from Supercharger Technologies but I'm not so sure of their quality since some members here have had iffy rebuilds.

Also, I am curious as to other than the SC what should I do when I am in there. Water pump and any other seals(that I do not know of)

got a greyhound ticket from orlando to ft lauderdale to go pick up the car. $32 one way compared to $120+ I'll spend in fuel round trip with my car and the MINI. Plus the bus has free wifi, that totally blew my mind.

She's a little dirty but no worries

Congrats on your Mini! If you're planning on doing the clutch soon, you should probably do that while putting in the new supercharger, since that has to come off to replace the clutch anyway. If you're planning to add a reduction pulley, that would also be a good time to put one on, especially since it adds a good amount of power for dirt cheap. As far as seals and gaskets, that may depend on the condition of the car and its mileage. It may be good to change what you can while you're in there, but it's hard to tell if it's absolutely necessary.
