Hello there!

As the post title states, i'm a soon-to-be mini owner. I have always liked the design of the Mini and now it has come to get a new car and I want to pull the trigger and get something I want. First car I have bought myself. (Not my first car overall, its actually my 5th since I have been driving) I plan on learning this car inside and out like I did my old turbo Beetle.

When I had my Beetle I found that getting to know some folks that were enthusiasts with the car, provided a wealth of information that no one else possibly could. Since this seemed to be one of the more referenced sources I thought I would peek in and join up.

Have some questions for everyone to hopefully help the newbie!

1) Thoughts on the base stereo? Is U-Connect really that much of an improvement to warrant the custom build wait and 750-1k increase?

2)Modification of the above, is U-Connect a option they can dealer install or is it only a BTO option?

Welcome! What model are you looking at? We're new to Mini and also to this site but am soon discovering that the amount of information present is overwhelming and very cool indeed!

The audio section of this site will give you some great info on the difference in audio. Read a thread Adam or. Two ago that was terrific. That being said the HK setup in my opinion is much better than the base.
