Finally!....Got myself a mini!

After much shopping around, I finally pulled the trigger!!

I joined this forum in early May, figuring within a week or two, I'd have my mini. While waiting for a stupid refi to go thru with many snags and delays, I suffered while watching each one of my internet finds get sold. As luck would have it, I found another candidate just as I closed on the refi.

Now....can somebody help me get these dang roof racks off! I think I might have to take it to the dealer. I concerned about doing damage to my roof gutters.....

I like the sport stripes down the center

On the roof racks, on the black parts there should be covers, you can pull the sides away from the roof rack itself and the covers snap off, and then there will be a screw or 2 under those covers attaching it to the roof.

Congrats, looks nice !

Appears that roof rack removal is a two person job. With one on each side, piece of cake and no paint damage.

Congrats on your new MINI. Are you removing the roof racks because you don't use them or because they're ugly?

Unlock the covers on the side, then use the tool to unscrew the tension mounts.

Part # 82712149225

Here is the install PDF link & removal.

There are little cover caps to re-install after the roof rack is dismounted , for a clean look.

If you don't have them , or they were lost. They are here.

I don't need 'em....and there is wind noise on the freeways. I'll just use my truck when I go for a surf or use other large toys

I had a few friends that removed them because of noise.

I may, although since I purchased the car used, it did not come with the tool kit to install/remove them. Don't know if that would dissuade interest....
