After a long wait, tracking the car through production and shipment, I signed the paperwork this date, 12:15 p.m. An absolutely wonderful little car, and better in every than my '05 R53. I'm thinking this is a modern BMW 2002. Photo attached. The big ugly guy is me.
Hey, wait - the photo didn't make the trip. Sorry. I'll try again.
Congrats! The Clubman is what got me on the dealer lot. I love those barn doors. I ultimately needed a bit more ground clearance for some dirt roads I need to get on so went with the Countryman (ordered last week) but the Clubman is top notch!
I owned a German spec 1971 2002 tii, and never thought about comparing it to my Clubman. For one thing, it wasn't a hatch, but I did love that car! Picture attached:
My BMW 2002 was British racing green (that's what I called it; I think BMW called it jade green). Always one of my favorite colors. After a series of red cars, my wife said no more red cars, which was fine with me; went with the Green Park Clubman but would have been fine with the BRG. Have seen a couple BRG's around town, and there's another pepper white about two blocks away from me.
